This is a living document. With time, more comparison categories will be added.

Product types

Different things to sell, and ways to sell them.

The following table compares your options with each platform.

Note that OFCL stands for official extension and 3P for 3rd party extension. All WooCommerce extensions mentioned are from the official WooCommerce marketplace. If an extension covers more than one channel, and it has already been mentioned in the table, it is marked (^). If a feature doesn’t exist, but there is an active feature request or idea thread, it is marked with (X*) linked to the relevant page, and so you can check for updates. Also note that for some of the missing features you can find workarounds, but the table only compares dedicated solutions.

WooCommerce vs. Squarespace vs. Wix vs. Shopify vs. Duda – Sales Channels Options Compared

In general, WooCommerce seems to be the winner. The chances for you to hit a dead-end with WooCommerce when trying to integrate with a new sales channel in the future are minimal. Though some considerations can tilt your decision otherwise. I believe that core support or official extension should always be preferred over 3rd party extension. So, for example, if Walmart is important for your business strategy, you might prefer Shopify, as Walmart offers official integration with it.
